What the project needed
Mirel works alone and takes bookings through Mero. He did not need a booking system — he needed the page that convinces someone to tap the booking link, and he needed it to keep working for years without anyone touching it.
How it was built
His condition was plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript. No build step, no npm, nothing that needs reinstalling to change a price. That constraint was right, so the site is three files he can edit and drag onto a host.
Fonts were the biggest thing on the page, so they were subsetted and self-hosted: 170 KB of Google subsets became 36 KB. Both are preloaded — dropping either one pushed the headline repaint from about 1 s to over 5 s on a throttled connection.
Image sizes were measured in a real browser at every breakpoint rather than guessed, then generated only at the sizes actually used. Search Console flagged the review markup; that got fixed properly rather than removed.
