A guesthouse in a 1928 Saxon farmhouse, five rooms and three tents on the hill. Foreign guests read it in English, Romanian guests in Romanian, and the photographs load the moment the page does.

Measured on the real site with an empty cache, on a phone-sized screen throttled to a mid-range processor and mobile data, on 2 August 2026. Median of six runs.
What the project needed
Diana renovated a Saxon farmhouse in Saschiz and rents five rooms plus summer tents. Guests arrive from Booking.com, but she needed somewhere of her own that showed the house properly, in English for foreign visitors and Romanian for local ones, without her having to maintain anything technical.
How it was built
The house is the product, so the photographs had to carry the page. Everything else, type, colour, layout, stays quiet and gives them room.
Six pages in two languages, generated at build time with correct hreflang and a sitemap listing both. Romanian needed its own font subset: ă, ș and ț live outside the standard latin range and would otherwise fall back to a system face mid-word.
Nothing on the page needs JavaScript to work, so none is shipped. Every image is resized and converted at build time and served in the size the layout actually asks for.
